About Pier (UK)
From the moment that we first began to use vacuum excavators on site in 2009, we were so impressed by the capabilities and benefits that it brought with it, that we started to invest in equipment, research, and training so that we could offer more suction excavation to our clients. In 2012, 11 years after we first founded Pier (UK) as a civil engineering and drainage company, we moved to exclusively providing suction excavation services to our clients. Here at Pier, we pride ourselves on the high quality of service that we bring to every project that we undertake. We continually invest in both our resources and our team, ensuring that we are accredited by many leading industry trade bodies, such as FORS, and CPA.
Advantages of Hiring a Vac Truck
The benefits of using excavation equipment are impressive. Firstly, it uses the power of suction to remove earth or debris, which negates the need for digging. Digging can be dangerous, costly, and can be destructive. Suction excavation can gently remove earth from around tree roots, or utilities, without damaging them. Cable strikes from digging can be destructive, deadly, and expensive, and have the potential to derail a project completely. If you are working in areas where it is unclear where the utilities are, it can be extremely dangerous, and using suction excavation is infinitely safer. Suction excavation can be used to clear underground without needing to break through large sections of topsoil, which can help with the preservation of local ecosystems, and is extremely important to help protect the environment. The power of suction excavation means that excavators can clear earth quicker than a team digging. This makes suction excavation a cheaper and quicker process than traditional excavation techniques. Once you can see the multiple advantages of suction excavation, it is easy to see why more and more people choose this as the best excavation method for their projects.

How Can We Help You With Your Project?
We have invested heavily in our fleet of vac trucks. Each type of excavation truck has a different capacity and is designed for different locations and terrain. City development sites are typically tight on space and can be hard to access. For projects such as these, we would recommend the City Sucker. Whilst this has the least storage capacity of all of our fleet, it is also the smallest excavation truck and is ideal where the space is restricted. For larger sites, where there is more space to manoeuvre and operate a truck, then we would recommend our larger truck, the RSP ESE 6, which has a capacity of 12m³, compared to the 2m³ offered by the City Sucker. Where the site is inaccessible by a wheeled truck, we can use our tracked trucks.
